Home Base Heroes: Living Legends of the South Texas Negro League
Join us as we host 17 former players from the historic South Texas Negro League! These local legends will be sharing their experiences playing for hometown teams like the San Antonio Black Sox and Denver Heights Bears during the 1960s and 70s, a time in which game scores shared headline space with the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement. This rich discussion will also include a meet & greet with the players, a raffle for tickets to a San Antonio Missions baseball game, and a food truck serving hot dogs and burgers (of course!).
