Guided Hike: History of the Medina River- A Little River with a Big Past

Guided Hike: History of the Medina River- A Little River with a Big Past

Watering holes, classically known as a place to gather and gossip, attract activity from all ecological levels. Whether thirsty rabbit, curious coyote, or hot human looking to cool down, water’s necessity makes it the perfect place for interaction.

The Medina River is no different. It has a rich history of human and animal interaction. It was the interaction of indigenous peoples centuries ago that saved the area from being drown by the creation of the Applewhite Reservoir.

Join us on a 1.5 miles hike to explore the evidence of Medina’s past. No registration required. Meet at the Medina Natural Area Demo Garden at 11:00am. For more information contact Kayla Krueger: 210-207-3103, kayla.krueger@sanantonio.gov
