George Ensle and Butch Hancock

George Ensle and Butch Hancock

In the 60’s Houston folk music scene George Ensle was sharing stories, songs, and stages with Townes van Zandt, Guy Clark, and Billy Joe Shaver, just to name a few. After more than five decades he still maintains the essence of that folk tradition, the story song. His performances are filled with wit, wisdom, grit, and always hope, his edgy vocals accompanied with intricate fingerstyle guitar, resonator, and keyboard.

Co-headliner Butch Hancock has lyrically been compared to the likes of Bob Dylan, and today is a member of The Flatlanders, though primarily has performed as a solo artist. Highly regarded by his peers as one of the premier Texas singer-songwriters, he has been called “one of the finest songwriters of our time.” (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
