Fairy Houses in Nature

Fairy Houses in Nature
¡Feliz Día de los Muertos! Green Spaces Alliance is hosting an educational workshop for youth at Bulverde Oaks Nature Preserve. This event welcomes families and students to engage in a nature-focused activity, learn about Mexican folk art, and celebrate the ways in which we honor nature through culture and tradition.
In-Person Workshop Objectives
Participants will:
Explore nature on a guided hike at Bulverde Oaks Nature Preserve and learn about local wildlife and the habitats they depend on to thrive.
Collect natural materials along the trail and build a mini fairy house that reflects what you’ve learned about native habitats in San Antonio.
Celebrate Mexican folk art traditions by learning about Alebrijes and designing your own colorful, imaginative creature.
Enjoy Día de los Muertos–inspired activities, including face painting and the chance to dress up with marigolds, butterflies, fairy wings, or alebrije-inspired designs.
