Exhibit Opening for “Las Rancheritas” Rug Hook Project at King William Assn

Exhibit Opening for “Las Rancheritas” Rug Hook Project at King William Assn

“Las Rancheritas” rug hook project has participated with a booth at the King William Fair for several years. We are pleased to showcase their lovely, unique Rug Hook Project in our Gallery this November – December. Sponsored by the Cultural Arts Committee of King William Association. This is a perfect chance to get some gifts for the holidays.

The group of rural farming women living near San Miguel have been hooking rugs since 1998. Eaczh woman designs and creates her own rug that reflects the vibrant color and life in Mexico. The village is a subsistence farming community and the money made through rug sales goes towards basic need including: food, corn seed, school supplies, bus fare and health care. The money from the sale of rugs is significantly improving the quality of life for the families of Las Rancheritas.

The exhibit runs from November 7 until December19. Mondays – Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
