Federal Courthouse in San Antonio

U.S. Senator John Cornyn announced today that the Omnibus Appropriations bill for FY2016 will include funding for a new federal courthouse in San Antonio.

Cornyn says the aging San Antonio federal courthouse falls woefully short of meeting the community’s needs, and a new facility that keeps the judges, staff, and folks who use it every day safe and secure is long overdue.

Cornyn has been working closely with the Senate Appropriations Committee to ensure the final Omnibus Appropriations bill provided the necessary resources for the new courthouse under the funding levels Congress agreed to in the budget.

Congressman Henry Cuellar says the inclusion of the funding for a new federal courthouse will allow for better administration of justice as the current building was never intended for this purpose.
