Texas GOP Convention

Texas Republicans took anti-Muslim remarks to the national stage during speeches at the GOP midterm convention.

The two-day convention ends tonight, but not before many other speakers address the event, including Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson. NPR's Tamara Keith joined us to break down the events.

The newly elected chair and vice-chair of the Texas Republican Party each signed a "Texas First" pledge put forward by a group advocating for secession. Its president says that's "invaluable."
