After a weeklong trial, Maj. Gen. Phillip Stewart was found not guilty on the charge of sexual assault charge of a female officer in his former command. Stewart was found guilty on the other charges against him, dereliction of duty and conduct unbecoming of an officer.

The former commander of the 19th Air Force was accused of sexually assaulting a female subordinate officer. This case marks the second time in history that a general officer was court-martialed over assault accusations.

Maj. Gen. William T. Cooley was found guilty of abusive sexual contact for forcibly kissing his sister-in-law after a 2018 event. He faces dismissal from the military and up to seven years in prison.
