Wurzbach Parkway has been under construction for almost 35 years--and now it's finally ready. Eastbound lanes opened last week and westbound lanes will become available on Wednesday.
The highway offers another option for commuters trying to avoid traffic congestion on Loop 410 and Loop 1604. Connecting Interstate 35 and Interstate 10, the parkway is expected to accommodate 40,000 cars a day.
The new bypass has been met with praise, complaints, and concerns. While some residents are excited about shorter driving times, others are worried about the impact the highway will have on local residential neighborhoods.
Are you going to be using this new route?
