Sunday, May 31
6:25 p.m. — Confirmed cases total 2,830
Mayor Ron Nirenberg reported there are five new cases of COVID-19 in the San Antonio area, totaling 2,830. One more person has died, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the area to 74.
The mayor also said the San Antonio City Council is scheduled to ratify the CARES Act Recovery and Resilience Plan and is looking forward to a "hearty discussion" with the Bexar County Commissioner's Court.

3:30 p.m. — Stimulus debit cards
Millions of prepaid debit cards were mailed out as part of the $2 trillion dollar CARES Act.
While the majority of Americans have already received their $1,200 dollar stimulus check either as a paper check or direct deposit, nearly 4 million others will receive their payment in the form of prepaid Visa debit cards.
The Economic Impact Payment Cards will come in a plain envelope from Money Network Card-holder Services.
Those who receive the card can get cash from ATMs, transfer funds to a personal bank accounts and make purchases where ever Visa is accepted.
10 a.m. — Update on surrounding counties
Comal County confirmed five new case Friday, bringing the total 99. There are 69 people who have recovered from the virus and there have been seven deaths reported.
Atascosa County confirmed 36 cases this week, with 29 recoveries and two deaths related to the virus.
The Texas Department of State Health Services has confirmed 139 cases in Guadalupe County - 121 have recovered. There are 38 cases in Wilson County and 71 cases in Medina County.
There are 29 COVID-19 cases in Kendall, 11 in Uvalde and six in Bandera counties.
Saturday, May 30
Metro Health reported 189 new COVID-19 cases in Bexar County Saturday. Mayor Ron Nirenberg stressed that the new cases did not come in all one day, but are a result of a backlog in testing results.

Total cases since the outbreak began stand at 2,825. There was one new death. A white female in her 90’s passed away at a hospital. The total death count stands at 73.
Officials said 83 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 39 are in intensive care, and 20 patients are using a ventilator. According to Metro Health, 79% of ventilators are available, and 29% of staffed hospital beds remain open.
