Dr. Fredericc Brock is a pastor and co-founder of The Message Church in San Antonio. He was in school for a long time training for the pulpit. He got a doctorate from the Oblate School of Theology, and before that a masters from Baylor University's theological seminary.
Despite years in school training him to minister to a community, Dr. Brock says he was not prepared for the violence and heartbreak that surrounded his first ministry. In his story, he reflects on how his early experience changed how he thought about his job, and about how to care for the people in your church.
