Last year an estimated 3.5 million people experienced homelessness for some length of time. Diane DeLeon was a survivor of childhood trauma, trauma that didn't stop with her childhood. After a series of events, DeLeon finds herself on the street with her two children and another on the way.
In this heart-wrenching story, Diane retraces her life and how becoming homeless led her to the help she desperately needed. Special thanks to SAMMinistries for connecting us with Diane.
Diane was a storyteller at our November 2015 event Worth Repeating, which was themed "On The Street Where I Live."
Worth Repeating is Texas Public Radio's live, storytelling event series that looks to bring the Sound of San Antonio out through the stories of your friends and neighbors.
