President Donald Trump says a suspected chemical attack by the Syrian government against civilians "crossed a lot of lines."
Trump said Wednesday that his attitude about Syria's President Bashar Assad and about Syria has "changed very much."
He repeated his accusations that the Obama administration issued a "blank threat" to the Assad government that using chemical weapons would result in consequences.
Democratic Congressman Lloyd Doggett, who represents part of San Antonio and the Austin corridor, says it’s not President Obama, but President Trump is in charge and it’s pretty clear he doesn’t really know what to do.
“I think that it’s important that we not add additional U.S. ground troops in the midst of this civil war. But I think the main thing is to have Trump lean on his buddy Putin to put a stop to this.”
Trump has acknowledged that it’s his responsibility and he will carry it proudly.
