The National Transportation Safety Board is wrapping up its on-site investigation of the church bus crash that left 13 senior adults dead last week.
Jennifer Morrison is the NTSB Investigator-in-Charge. She says they have been collecting evidence for analysis from the crash scene on a rural highway in Uvalde County.
She says they determined that the driver of the pickup that collided with the bus head-on was not wearing a seatbelt.
A witness provided video of the truck crossing over the center line and onto the shoulder minutes before the crash. That same witness also said the driver of the truck admitted to texting while driving.
The investigation is not expected to be complete for about a year.
The people on the bus were returning to First Baptist Church New Braunfels following a three day retreat. One passenger on the bus and the driver of the truck were the only survivors.
