Autism Lawsuit Filed On Behalf Of Bexar County Children

The complaint was filed in U.S. District Court.

Three Bexar County children with autism are at the center of a lawsuit filed on Dec. 6, 2016.

Lawyers for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid and Disability Rights of Texasassert Medicaid should pay for a therapy called applied behavior analysis treatment.”

"We filed the suit this morning in the United States District Court in San Antonio," said Susan Zinn, a San Antonio attorney for the plaintiffs. "And we hope that they will agree to provide services to these three children while the lawsuit is pending."

  

Twin five-year-old boys and a teenage boy are at the center of the lawsuit.

Medicaid in some other states pays for the therapy which is recommended as scientifically proven treatment by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
