Bexar GOP Delegate Favorite Of International Convention Media

Lisa Nilsson

Bexar County GOP delegate Lisa Nilsson has been tweeting up a storm at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Dressed in a Texas cowboy hat, jeans and Western-style shirt she’s posted photos of her interviews with Swedish news, Kurdish television and other media.

“I think they like us Texans because we sort of represent that cowboy stereotype they’ve seen in the movies,” Nilsson told Texas Public Radio.

The reporter from Sweden asked Nilsson if stricter gun regulations are needed following recent gun violence in the United States.

Nilsson said she responded with a “typical Texas response.”

“I said absolutely not.  In fact I believe in conceal carry and I often carry myself.”

Nilsson had hoped delegates would change convention rules and nominate someone other than Donald Trump.  She said she now knows that’s not possible and she’s on board to support the billionaire.

*Lisa Nilsson, 51, is a mother of three from Bexar County. She’s an alternate delegate attending the convention with her husband and children.
