2 Texas Women Shot, Bodies Found In Car In Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. — Baton Rouge police say two 23-year-old Texas women were shot to death in a car, and investigators don’t have any suspects or motive.

Cpl. Don Coppola says in a news release that the bodies of Brandi Gilbert of Plano and Corrin Rayford of Grapevine were found about 11 p.m. Friday in a vehicle parked on the roadside.

Area resident Lyle Hitzman has told media outlets that he called police late Friday because an unfamiliar car was parked in a dark area near his house. He says he did not approach it and was shocked to learn that two women’s bodies had been found inside. He says the neighborhood is a pretty quiet area.
