Man Reportedly Resists Cops, Tasered, Dies In Dallas Police Custody

DALLAS — A man has died after being taken into police custody in Dallas.

A news release from the Dallas Police Department says officers responded to a major disturbance call Monday night in the Buckner Terrace neighborhood of Pleasant Grove, where police say a man was exhibiting erratic behavior.

According to police, preliminary information indicates the man had entered a parked vehicle belonging to someone else. Police say they told the man to get out of the car. He briefly opened the door and was removed by officers. A struggle ensued and additional officers were called. Police say one officer used his Taser on the man, who began to show signs of distress.

Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the man, whose name has not been released, to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say an investigation is ongoing.
