Brought to you by the San Antonio River Foundation, BiblioTech and San Antonio BCycle, with support from PeopleForBikes and the Better Bike Share Partnership, this program is your ticket to a wilder side of San Antonio, where each bike ride introduces you to both our city’s unique nature and the perks of using BCycle, San Antonio’s bikeshare system.

Once again, the Children’s Ballet of San Antonio’s enchanting The Children’s Nutcracker graces the iconic Lila Cockerell stage on December 12-14 with breathtaking choreography, stunning scenery, and lavish costumes. Discover the extraordinary artistry of San Antonio’s youth as dancers from across Bexar County come together to present a dazzling professional-level production not to be missed. All the grandeur of Tchaikovsky’s original ballet score and the classic elements of The Nutcracker legacy are retained. At the same time, the 90-minute runtime is designed to enthrall younger audiences from start to finish. Magical sets, opulent costumes, and exquisite choreography complement the astounding young talent, sure to satisfy audiences familiar with the 19th-century tale of young Clara and her magical Nutcracker Prince, while also dazzling those experiencing the famed ballet for the first time.
Presenting The Children’s Nutcracker at the Lila Cockrell Theater, a 2,300-seat venue nestled in the shadow of Downtown San Antonio’s iconic Tower of the Americas and right alongside the equally alluring River Walk destination, allows visitors to plan a day of winter fun capped off with a performance. The magic begins as soon as guests arrive, with a pre-show holiday market offering gorgeous gifts and collectibles that would even impress Clara on Christmas morning! Families can also treat themselves to sweet and savory snacks, and strike a pose with Santa, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and other cast members as they listen to the joyful ‘noise’ of San Antonio Academy Wildcat’s Chorale and Mariachi Orgullo del Sur.
The Children’s Ballet of San Antonio (CBSA) and its sponsor school, the Dance Center of San Antonio, are the leading providers of youth dance instruction and performance opportunities in the region. CBSA performers and Dance Center students have won numerous international awards and world-renowned scholarships. The Dance Center was recently recognized as among the top 2.5 percent of dance institutions in the nation. A Charlie Brown Christmas follows Charlie Brown as he sets out to discover the true meaning of the holiday season. Despite the decorations, presents, and cheerful spirit all around him, Charlie feels something is missing. With guidance from Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang, he takes on directing the school Christmas play, hoping it will help him find what the season is really about. Based on the beloved television special, this faithful stage adaptation features the original score, gentle humor, and a timeless message about love, community, and simplicity. Step into a luminous journey through the Christmas story with radiant brass and soaring voices, featuring McDowall’s A Winter’s Night, Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata, and works by Ešenvalds, Stopford, Gabrieli, Tavener, Willcocks, and more.

Persons of all faiths are invited to a festive offering of carol singing and choral music for Advent and Christmas. Presented in the awe inspiring Little Flower Basilica, a national shrine and historic landmark of San Antonio located near downtown, just off of Hwy 10.
Traditional carols such as "Once in Royal David's City", "The Holly and the Ivy", "Riu, riu, chiu," and "Of the Father's Love Begotten" will be sung along with anthems such as "Alleluia" by Eric Whitacre by the Musica Sacra choir and guests, including choir members from Northwood Presbyterian Church and San Antonio Academy, directed by Owen Duggan and accompanied by organist William Benfield as well as featuring string players from the San Antonio Philharmonic.

Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.
Shows are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM. Special shows on December 13 at 2 PM and December 23 at 7 PM.
The 120th San Antonio Deutsche Weihnachtsfeier will take place on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025 , at 5:30 p.m. at the Margarite B. Parker Chapel on the campus of Trinity University. The Christmas story is told entirely in the German language using scripture, German Christmas poetry, prayers, choral and congregational singing, and instrumental music. Come and sing Stille Nacht, O Tannenbaum, and other Christmas carols in German! Words and music provided!The Beethoven Maennerchor and the San Antonio Liederkranz choirs will perform.
