Join us at the historic Bexar County Courthouse for an engaging conversation with Martha Tijerina, Guillermo Nicolas, and Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez as they explore the groundbreaking contributions of Spanish-language media trailblazers whose journeys began right here in Bexar County - from the pioneering days of KCOR-AM, KCOR-TV, and KWEX-TV to the rise of Univision.
Panelists include:
MARTHA TIJERINA – Former host of “En San Antonio” on KWEX-TV and one of the first women in Spanish-language television in the U.S.
GUILLERMO NICOLAS – Philanthropist, businessman, and descendant of Spanish-language media trailblazers
DR. MAGGIE RIVAS-RODRIGUEZ – Professor at UT Austin's School of Journalism and Media, affiliated with the Center for Mexican American Studies and Director of the Voces Oral History Center
