The Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter announces its annual Texas Independence Day Celebration & Scholarship Banquet, scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 5:30 p.m.to 8:30 p.m. at the National Museum of the Pacific War, Admiral Nimitz Foundation’s Nimitz Ballroom, 328 East Main, Fredericksburg, TX. Please Note: The Nimitz Museum closes at 5:00 p.m. To avoid congestion with Museum guests, attendees are asked NOT to arrive any earlier than 5:30 p.m.

The Texas Independence Day Celebration & Scholarship Banquet is the Chapter’s major fundraising event of the year and celebrates the founding of the University of Texas at Austin. All net proceeds from the event benefit the Chapter Scholarship Fund and will support awards of scholarships to Gillespie County seniors enrolled at The University of Texas for fall 2026 and to Gillespie County undergraduates planning to continue attending The University of Texas in 2026. In 2025, the Chapter awarded 7 scholarships totaling over $35,000.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction and social, followed at 6:30 p.m. with dinner catered by Vivere Catering, and a program commemorating the founding of The University and featuring current Chapter scholarship recipients. Tickets to the Texas Independence Day Celebration & Scholarship Banquet are $65 per person and reservations must be made by February 11, 2026. To make your reservation, please email Susan Mahoney at sumahoney@yahoo.com. Registration is limited to the first 120 respondents.

Payment can be made with a check, cash, or credit card. Make your check payable to Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter and mail to Texas Exes at PO Box 572, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Credit card payments can be accepted by contacting Ben Culpepper at baculp66@gmail.com or 210-365-6354; payments will be processed through the Chapter’s Square.

PLEASE NOTE: in order to avoid additional catering charges, anyone making a reservation is expected to pay, even if ultimately unable to attend.
