The Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter's annual scholarship presentation and student recognition will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 5:00 pm at Western Edge Kitchen & Cocktails, located at 228 W. Main St. in Fredericksburg.
This year the Chapter is awarding nine scholarships totaling over $34,000, a record high total for the Chapter, possible only because of the generosity of members and donors. This event is the celebratory culmination of the Chapter's yearlong fundraising efforts to support young Gillespie County students who are attending The University of Texas.
The Chapter is awarding scholarships to three Incoming Freshmen all of whom are 2024 graduates of Fredericksburg High School and all of whom will be freshmen at UT in the fall:
• Nicole Bryla Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Alisha Wille

• Chapter Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Ashley Garcia. This scholarship is presented in memory of Chapter members who have passed away in 2022 and 2023: Virgil Justice, Wallace Smith, Geneva Smith, Dan Mittel, and Bob Fletcher.
The awards for these recipients also include tuition to Camp Texas, a freshman orientation camp, and a one-year membership to the Texas Exes Student Chapter.
In addition, the Chapter is awarding six scholarships to current undergrads at The University of Texas who are prior-year Chapter scholarship recipients and/or completed the Current Student application requirements. These students and their awards are:
