sista docta was first presented by Omi Jones in 1993 as a commentary on her experiences as a young Black woman professor working at Predominantly White Institutions. 30 years later, Omi is now retired from academic life, improvising with new possibilities, and ready to explore what it means to be a former professor dancing into her Queer crone time. sista docta/REBIRTH is a spirited participatory gathering that invites everyone to re-imagine beyond what we think we know about ourselves, the world around us, and explore the beauty in the unknown.
