San Antonio Mastersingers Present Handel's "MESSIAH" Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025
The San Antonio Mastersingers begin the holiday season on a glorious high note with one of the most beloved works in the choral repertoire — George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. The performance will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. at University United Methodist Church, conducted by Dr. Yoojin Muhn, Music Director of the San Antonio Mastersingers.
This festive program also features musicians from the San Antonio Philharmonic and acclaimed soloists soprano Megan Pachecano, mezzo-soprano Sabatina Mauro, tenor David Sadlier and bass Tres Hunter in the Mastersingers’ annual presentation of Handel’s masterwork.
A treasured San Antonio holiday tradition, Messiah combines moments of quiet reflection with triumphant choruses that have inspired audiences for centuries — including the resounding “Hallelujah” chorus.
“Messiah is a timeless celebration of hope, faith, and renewal,” said Dr. Muhn. “We are honored to share this magnificent music with our community each holiday season and to continue the Mastersingers’ tradition of excellence in choral performance. We sincerely hope that this music will truly inspire hearts and nourish souls.”
This year’s presentation marks the 81st season of the San Antonio Mastersingers, who have been a cornerstone of the region’s cultural life since 1944.
