San Antonio Mastersingers present Handel's Messiah Parts II & III: From Passion to Resurrection on Sunday, April 12

San Antonio Mastersingers present Handel's Messiah Parts II & III: From Passion to Resurrection on Sunday, April 12

Following the enthusiastic response to its December presentation of Messiah Part I, the San Antonio Mastersingers will present Handel’s Messiah, Parts II and III — From Passion to Resurrection — on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 4 p.m. at University Methodist Church.

The December concert featured Part I of Handel’s beloved masterwork – the Christmas portion -- and included the triumphant and familiar “Hallelujah” Chorus from Part II. Now, on the Sunday after Easter, audiences are invited to experience the powerful conclusion of the oratorio — a dramatic journey from Christ’s Passion to the glory of the Resurrection and the promise of eternal life.

Under the direction of Music Director Dr. Yoojin Muhn, the 125-voice auditioned Mastersingers chorus will be joined again by a professional orchestra and returning soloists:

• Soprano Megan Pachecano
• Mezzo-Soprano Sabatina Mauro
• Tenor David Sadlier
• Bass Tres Hunter

“Parts II and III complete the story that began in December,” said Dr. Muhn. “From the depth of suffering to the radiant hope of ‘Worthy is the Lamb’ and ‘Amen,’ this music offers a timeless message that continues to inspire hearts and nourish souls.”
