San Antonio Mastersingers Present Handel's Messiah December 4

After a three-year absence due to COVID-19, Handel’s Messiah has returned to San Antonio audiences. The San Antonio Mastersingers, joined by musicians from the San Antonio Philharmonic, will present the holiday favorite on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of University United Methodist Church in San Antonio. Under the baton of Mastersingers Music Director Dr. Yoojin Muhn, the concert will feature the oratorio’s Christmas selections along with the Hallelujah Chorus and the majestic Worthy is the Lamb that was Slain and Amen.

The 120-voice Mastersingers chorus and orchestra will be joined by soloists Amanda Bryant, soprano, Crystal Jarrell Johnson, alto, Louie Ramos, Tenor, and Christopher Besch, bass.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.samastersingers.org or at the door. Student tickets are $15, General Admission tickets are $30 and VIP Tickets (preferred seating) are $60.

For more than 275 years, George Frederick Handel’s venerable Messiah has been performed in concert halls, stages and cathedrals and in flash mobs around the world. A holiday tradition in San Antonio, its performance by the San Antonio Mastersingers has been a popular event for years, whether at the Majestic Theatre, Tobin Center, University United Methodist Church or throughout the community.
