A holiday must-see concert returns to San Antonio audiences as the San Antonio Mastersingers presents George Frideric Handel’s iconic and beloved baroque oratorio, Messiah, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 4 p.m. in the beautiful sanctuary of University Methodist Church.
Mastersingers’ music director, Dr. Yoojin Muhn, conducts this performance of the masterwork’s Christmas selections along with the triumphant Hallelujah chorus, the majestic Worthy is the Lamb that was Slain and the final fugue Amen. The chorus will be accompanied by musicians of the San Antonio Philharmonic. Soloists joining the Mastersingers and Philharmonic musicians are Lydia Beasley, Soprano; Crystal Jarrell Johnson, Mezzo-soprano; Seth Lafler, Tenor; and Chia-Wei Lee, Bass-baritone.
