San Antonio Mastersingers Open 78th Season with Mozart's Solemn Vespers

Under the baton of new Music Director Dr. Yoojin Muhn, the San Antonio Mastersingers open their 78th season of choral excellence on Sunday, October 23, 2022 with a performance of Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore, K. 339, along with additional works by Fauré, Mathias, Hagensberg and Kirchner. The Vespers will also feature soloists Gail Wettstein, soprano; Caroline Melcher, mezzo-soprano; Joseph Rodriguez, tenor; and Josep-Maria Peralba, bass. The last time the Mastersingers performed the Mozart Masterwork was in New York’s Carnegie Hall in 2008.

The concert marks the debut of new Mastersingers Music Director Dr. Yoojin Muhn, and the chorus’s inaugural collaboration with the new San Antonio Philharmonic.
