WHAT: San Antonio’s premier chorus, the San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers, is returning to the stage for the 2021-22 season to perform with the San Antonio Symphony as well as present independent concerts. The chorus, under director Dr. John Silantien, will hold auditions by appointment only on Saturdays August 21 and 28. Openings are available in all voice parts. Auditions consist of vocalizations, ear testing, sight-reading, and a prepared solo (if the singer has one). An accompanist will be provided. As part of the Symphony’s Classical Series, the Mastersingers will perform Handel’s Messiah at the Tobin Center on December 22nd and 23rd, 2021 and Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé, February 25th and 26th, 2022, also at the Tobin. In addition to the performances with the San Antonio Symphony, the chorus will perform its annual concert at the Basilica of the Little Flower on Sunday, November 14th, featuring the music that will be performed on the chorus’s international tour of Scotland, England and Wales in June 2022.
