Raza Cósmica: Excursions in Afrofuturism, 2024
Afrofuturism expresses notions of Black identity, agency, and freedom through art, creative works, and activism that envision liberated futures for Black life. Raza Cósmica: A constellation of Latinx sci-fi cinema continues with a vibrant selection of shorts that includes films from Canada, the UK, and the US by Afro-Latina and Black filmmakers.
Selections include The Golden Chain by Adebukola Bodunrin and Ezra Claytan Daniels, Daylight Rules by Alex Browning, The Fore-men by Adrian Bobb, Chimera by Kryzz Gautier, and We Are Not Alone by Adebukola Bodunrin.

Raza Cósmica is MonteVideo’s annual showcase of sci-fi and speculative films by Latinx and BIPOC filmmakers. This year's festival runs October 10-12, 2024 and spotlights films from Canada, Mexico, the UK, and the US by Latinx and BIPOC directors.
Excursions in Afrofuturism is presented by MonteVideo and Mexican American Civil Rights Institute.
