National Public Health Week Kickoff: It Starts Here
It Starts Here! The Power of Local Partnerships is the theme for National Public Health Week, held from April 7th-12th, 2025, by the UT School of Public Health San Antonio. Throughout the week, we will showcase partnerships that contribute to public health and wellbeing, including collaborations between healthcare, corporate, community, and resident sectors.
At this kickoff event, we invite the community, along with local public health professionals, agencies, and policymakers, to explore the UT School of Public Health San Antonio's vision for fostering local partnerships in public health and wellbeing.
Taylor Eighmy, PhD, president of the University of Texas at San Antonio and acting president of UT Health San Antonio will deliver opening remarks.
Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai and Bexar County Public Health Director Andrea Guerrero, PhD, MPH, will announce Public Health Summit 2026, a collaborative event that showcases public health and its importance in Bexar County and South Texas.
UT School of Public Health San Antonio dean Vasan Ramachandran, MD, will moderate a panel discussion on the vital role of healthcare partnerships in San Antonio’s public health landscape.
