Master Class with filmmaker Ya'Ke Smith: Developing Culturally Relevant Stories in Texas

Award-winning filmmaker and UT Austin Professor Ya’ke Smith will conduct a Master Class at the UTSA Southwest Campus on October 11 at 7 pm. The filmmaker will discuss his cinematic approach and the social issues explored in his works through a presentation and a Q&A discussion. The conversation will be moderated by Kimberly LeBlanc, San Antonio Film Commissioner. The event is organized by the UTSA Film & Media Studies program, funded by a grant from Humanities Texas, and co-sponsored by UTSA Arts and the SA Film Commission. Event is free and open to the public.
