Independence of Mexico in San Antonio

Los Inocentes and Avenida Guadalupe Association present in Mission Concepcion "Independence of Mexico in San Antonio", highlighting the events in which the people of San Antonio de Bexar participated in the fight for the Independence of Mexico from Spain. A Historical narrative is presented with historical music and songs that were part of the Bexar culture from 1810 to 1821.

Gabriel Q. Velasquez opens the program with welcoming remarks giving a historical context of the events that encouraged the people of New Spain to fight for their Independence. Dr. C. Maria Zentella will discuss the Texas and Bexar participants and events during the Independence fight decade.

Musicians Binisa Zentella and Jonathan Wittwer will perform historic music.
