Humanities in Healthcare Symposium

The Humanities in Healthcare Symposium will be held on Wed, Nov 5 from 2pm - 5pm at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) campus at Brooks City Base.

The event will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Patricia Sexton, who is the Gold Humanism Honor Society Advisory Council Chair Elect and Associate Dean for Curriculum at AT Still Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, as the Holt Distinguished Lecturer in Professionalism and Ethics. Her talk is called The Healing Touch: Why Humanism Matters in Medicine Today.

Following her presentation and Q&A with the audience, UIWSOM medical students will present their work in the medical humanities. The Symposium is free and open to all. Please plan to attend and reach out to faculty member Dr. Rohini Mehta (rmehta@uiwtx.edu) with any questions.
