The San Antonio Trombone Quartet consists of friends who have come from different backgrounds across Texas through the goal of exploring a variety of music that bring out the lyrical qualities of the trombone. Being formed in 2024, the San Antonio Trombone Quartet was brought together through the extensive and innovative compositions and arrangements that have inspired the group to share these pieces with you. The group brings expertise in both classical and jazz; Steve Peterson, Erik Anderson, and Simon Lohmann are the current trombone section of the San Antonio Philharmonic, while Kennedy Powers had played lead trombone in the multi-Grammy nominated One O’Clock Lab Band®.
