Day of Remembrance for Fallen Nurses
Day of Remembrance for Fallen Nurses
Today, to mark the one-year anniversary of the global coronavirus pandemic, the American Nurses Association (ANA) will honor the ultimate sacrifice made by the more than 500 nurses in the United States who lost their lives to COVID-19—often succumbing to the disease after caring for patients afflicted by it with a Day of Remembrance. ANA encourages the public to remember fallen health care workers through: • Taking a moment of silence at the beginning of the day. • Lighting a candle in honor of those we have lost.
