Creekside Sessions: Lisa Morales & Friends

Creekside Sessions: Lisa Morales & Friends

Join us for a special Creekside Sessions concert as singer-songwriter Lisa Morales brings her band and special guests to the Malú and Carlos Alvarez Theater at Texas Public Radio.

Morales' program, “Daughters of the Sun,” is inspired by her album of the same title, and songs that the San Antonio Express-News characterized as “declarations of self-respect and empowerment.” The concert will include favorite songs from Morales' career, as well as new material from her upcoming album—joining Morales and her band on select numbers during the concert will be musical guest Rosie Flores.

Like her cousin Linda Ronstadt, Lisa and her sister Roberta grew up in a musical family in Tucson, Arizona, learning to perform traditional Mexican music while developing broad-ranging musical taste prior to moving to Texas. She recorded six albums with Sisters Morales, the beloved sibling duo in which she partnered with Roberta, who passed away from cancer in August 2021. Her latest release, “She Ought to Be King,” features collaborators Gregg Rolie (Santana, Journey) and Rodney Crowell.

Tickets for this general seating event are $20 for TPR members, $25 for non-members.
