Conmemorando a la Comunidad - Latinx Experiences at Trinity University: Chicanx & Latinx Artists 1970s-1980s

Marina Oquendo will present on the Conmemorando a la Comunidad: Latinx Experiences at Trinity University with a special focus on Chicanx and Latinx artists that attended Trinity from the 1970s-80s. The presentation will highlight key contributions from Chicanx and Latinx alumni such as the creation of one of the first Chicano art collectives — Con Safo— and the founding of the San Antonio Museum of Modern Art (SAMOMA). Marina will show the long lasting legacy these artists have left on Trinity and the San Antonio community at large by sharing her research findings and the art that these alumni have created.
