After his five-year imprisonment, master burglar Tony returns to Paris to discover that his girl Mado is now the mistress of a rival gangster. Disheartened, Tony accepts a proposition from friends Jo and Mari for a raid on the prestigious jewelry store Mappin and Webb on one condition: to make this job an all-out jewel heist. With an impeccable plan and the aid of an expert safe-cracker, the band of thieves are confident they’ll succeed – but the human element has a way of intervening.
