Bookbinding Metamorphosis

Bookbinding Metamorphosis

Bookbinding Metamorphosis is a three hour intensive experimental workshop focused on the abilities of change & transformation through forms, shapes and self. The workshop will help participants: grow their visual awareness, find their own innovative way to express their feelings, and explore new ways of seeing.

Participants will discuss the importance of Transformations, Sensations, Memory, and Body. The workshop will be meditative, informative, and provide creative exercises to make art within the space. The artist will be creating a very experiential learning experience and helping folks understand the importance of the artist book & self publishing. Participants will be creating and bookbinding a book of their own creation with provided supplies.

The workshop is taught by Diana Lizette Rodriguez, a experimental artist from San Antonio who studied at Naropa University underneath the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics & Visual Art. Lizette is the artistic founder of Calle Soledad Presa, a small artist-run press in the city of San Antonio, which focuses on adding other artists, storytellers, poets, filmmakers and publishing their own work.
