An Evening with Barry Corbin

An Evening with Barry Corbin

Barry Corbin has appeared in hundreds of movies and TV shows over the past 40 years. Fans remember him early on in Urban Cowboy, Lonesome Dove and Northern Exposure. His career is still going strong with roles in recents years on The Ranch, Yellowstone, Tulsa Kings and he’s in the new Martin Scoresese movie Killers of the Flower Moon.

Before Corbin made his first onscreen appearance in Urban Cowboy, he had already acted in theater for over 20 years. He started off performing on stages in West Texas where he grew up, and eventually acting in plays all along the East Coast. Corbin was known as a classically trained Shakespearean actor, a style of training which has helped him in his film and television work.

Barry’s Texas heritage has also informed his approach to many of his characters and life in general. Raised in West Texas, Corbin’s family always encouraged his education and success. His mother LaMerle was a school teacher and his father, Kilmer Blaine Corbin, was a school principal, judge and state senator. He served two terms in the Texas State Senate from 1949 to 1957.

For “An Evening with Barry Corbin” the skillfull storyteller has put together a presentation, which is a celebration of his personal and professional life. It includes photos from some his most cherished moments on set and off. The event is highly interactive with Corbin taking questions from a moderator and the audience. He’ll also do photos and sign autographs afterwards.
