A San Antonio Christmas tradition!

On Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Noon, The TubaMeisters, a local tuba-euphonium ensemble, will produce the 44th Annual TubaMeister Christmas concert. It will take place at San Antonio’s historic Arneson River Theater.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The TubaMeister Christmas concerts have taken place since 1979, beginning with concerts in local malls, then at Main Plaza, and eventually at the Arneson.

The most unique feature of the concert is music performed by volunteers playing the tuba, euphonium, or baritone horn. Anyone who can read easy music and play one of those instruments is welcome to join in the fun. No reservations are necessary.

In addition to the all-volunteer ensemble, other performances will feature the UTSA Boom Squad and Bassline Brass from St. Marys University, as well as The TubaMeisters themselves.

For those who wish to perform on the concert, there is a registration(9:30-10:30 a.m.), and a rehearsal(10:30-11:30). Registration and rehearsal take place at St. Johns Lutheran Church. 502 E. Nueva. Printed music will be provided. A $5.00 donation is REQUESTED of participants, to help defray the costs of the concert.
