Earthwise Living Day is the oldest environmental fair in the County, beginning in 1989 when Leon Valley began the first curbside recycling in Bexar County and South Texas. To continue educating on environmental issues, this annual event was established. There will be vendors who will share information on renewable energy, transportation, recycling, air quality and waste reduction, just to mention a few. There will be an E-Cycle waste collection for unwanted computers, cell phone and televisions. Additionally, children's activities will be held in the Leon Valley Public Library. Local area schools will provide entertainment. At the end of the event, there will be a door prize drawing, thanks to the generosity of HEB for a $500 gift card.. You do need to be present to win.
