YOSA On The (Fun) Run With Beethoven

Chris Eudaily/TPR

YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio) are usually on the move, but this weekend, they hope you will join them in a 5k/10k fun run. This is the second year the group has led a "Beat Beethoven's Fifth" race and they are joined by Fleet Feet Sports San Antonio, as well as Texas Public Radio, for the event Saturday morning.

"It's fun when you run by yourself, but like music, it is even better when there are others with you," shares Angel Whitley of Fleet Feet Sports. "We believe in what YOSA does, and supporting them was a no brainer!" Executive Director Steven Payne adds, "Last year was a real success, and fun - you might just see Beethoven out there running!"

  • The run starts at 8am Saturday, April 13th. Find out more here.

KPAC 88.3 FM will broadcast Beethoven's Fifth Symphony for the fun run at 8am! Hosts Randy Anderson, James Baker, and Deirdre Saravia will be on hand to meet listeners and cheer the runners!

John Clare is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. A former broadcaster for NPR, John has previously worked with Voice of America, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and stations in Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania.
