The city of Kerrville's police department said on Facebook that most of the high waters had receded but told residents to continue sheltering in place unless they absolutely needed to be on the roads.
“You can help us by staying off the streets and allowing first responders to work,” the Kerrville Police Department said. “There is a lot of people driving around to take a look and that is not helpful. Please stay home unless your travel is urgent.”
The city also reiterated its call to conserve water in light of a water line break on the Arcadia Loop bridge near the Guadalupe River. The city says crews are working to restore water to residents in the area.
The city’s public utility says that nearly 1,800 customers are without power, but crews are working to restore service. However, the utility said, hazardous conditions may prevent crews from accessing certain neighborhoods
“We are hopeful that we can restore power today wherever conditions permit,” the Kerrville Public Utility Board said. “However, customers in flooded or otherwise inaccessible areas should be prepared for extended outages, particularly if floodwaters remain high or additional damage is discovered.”
Residents in need of shelter should go to Calvary Temple Church.
