Kendall County sees damage to property, roads, bridges

Officials in Kendall County say nearly 200,000 cubic feet of water per second came through the Guadalupe River on Thursday morning during the storms.

“Fortunately, like last year, we suffered no loss of life,” said Donnell Evans, a supervisor with Kendall County Road and Bridge. “Property damage and damage to roads and bridges are prevalent throughout the county.”

With more rain expected and significant amounts of water on the ground, Evans says they haven’t been able to do a full assessment of the damage at this point.

Evacuation centers in the county held around 68 residents at one point. A second wave of flooding waters is expected to flow toward Kendall County this afternoon.
