FEMA recovery centers in Burnet and Kerrville close this week

Flood disaster recovery centers organized by the Federal Emergency Management Agency will shut down in Kerrville and Burnet this week.

The FEMA center in Burnet closes permanently on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 7 p.m., and the center at the First Baptist Church in Kerrville closes at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22.

The FEMA center at LJ Vineyards in Hunt remains open.

Texans impacted by July floods have until Sept. 4 to apply for FEMA disaster assistance.

Apply at DisasterAssistance.gov, the FEMA mobile app, or call the FEMA helpline.

The organizations working together to help the flood victims said that the best way to help is with monetary donations.
