Mountain Stage
Nels Cline and Julian Lage.

Guitarists Nels Cline and Julian Lage appear together on Mountain Stage, recorded live in Charleston, W.Va. A bona fide super-duo, Cline and Lage span multiple generations and genres with fluidity, precision and grace. Still only 28, Lage made his recording debut alongside David Grisman, Edgar Meyer and Bela Fleck, earning him a standing gig in Mark O'Connor's Hot Swing projects and trips to Mountain Stage as both an accompanist and a solo artist. In addition to performing at the head of his own band, Cline, as a member of indie-rock juggernaut Wilco, has wowed arenas and clubs with guitar improvisations that bridge rock and free jazz.

Cline and Lage play here as a duo with no other accompaniment, delivering a challenging and rewarding performance that ended with a standing ovation from the live audience in Charleston.
