Ex-Sen. Cleland a Rallying Figure for Democrats

Former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland, a Georgia Democrat, is helping to rally veterans for the Kerry-Edwards ticket. Severely wounded in Vietnam, Cleland lost his Senate seat in 2002, when Republicans attacked his patriotism in TV ads that tied Cleland to Osama bin Laden. His story is energizing Democrats.
