Metro Health Confirms TB Case At Lanier High School

San Antonio Independent School District

The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District has confirmed a case of tuberculosis in an individual at Lanier High School in the San Antonio Independent School District.

The individual is off campus, in stable condition and will not return to school until no longer infectious.A meeting and presentation on TB was held Monday afternoon with school staff and faculty.  The school also sent letters to all parents, who are invited to attend a bilingual TB presentation on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. inside the school auditorium.
Metro Health and SAISD are working together to identify those individuals at the school who may have been exposed.  Letters will be sent to those that may have been potentially exposed.  TB is an infection caused by microbe that typically affects the lungs.
